Imitate God

“Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.” 3 John 1:11 (ESV)

Some years ago, there was a saying that asked a question, “What Would Jesus Do?” This statement and question was used to prompt us to think about our actions before we did something. W.W.J.D. was supposed to remind us that we are Christians, and we should act accordingly.

Demonstrate God’s Love

"But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you." Luke 6:27-28

We are going to meet people who we may not get alone with and some who will not get along with us for a variety of reasons. It is not that they have done something to us or we have done something to them, there will be something that will cause our personalities to clash. There are times when the dislike can turn to hate, and when a person hates another person they will do whatever it takes to destroy that person.

“All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.” 1 Corinthians 12:11 (ESV)

It is good to have friends that will be there for us through all our ups and downs. We have friends that we grew up with and they know us very well and we know them very well, and then we have friends that we may not call all the time, but we are still close to them and consider them our close friends.

It’s Time To Use Your Gifts

“All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.” 1 Corinthians 12:11 (ESV)

The Lord has blessed each of us with gifts. Some gifts are more pronounced than other gifts, but each of us has a gift that The Lord intends for us to use for His glory. Life has a way of seemingly dumping everything on us at one time. It can feel like we have all the weight of the world on our shoulders. We have those days when we feel like we must be Superman or Superwoman and not let anything bother us, but we have to help solve all the problems of everyone else, while our issues are left languishing for another time.

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV)

It is exciting to see someone doing their best, especially after they have overcome obstacles in their lives. Many of us who have done our best after overcoming obstacles can attribute it to someone who encouraged us when we were facing those obstacles.

Follow The Instructions

"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:20

Everything we purchase comes with instructions. It can be the food we buy or an item that needs to be assembled, but all of them have instructions. Some of us will not notice the instructions and we will begin to assemble our purchase with not thought of the instructions.

Alpha And Omega

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8

It can be challenging to enjoy a movie or show when we begin viewing it in the middle, and not seeing it from the beginning. It makes us wonder what happened to cause the other things to happen, and we can feel lost and not enjoy the ending because we did not see the beginning.
