The Lord Is With You In The Fight

“They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, declares the Lord, to deliver you.” Jeremiah 1:19 (ESV)

It should be no secret that from time to time in our lives we are going to have to fight our way through some things.  There have been fights that we have lost, but there are also some fights we have won, and the ones that we obtained victory in are the ones that we allowed God to fight for us.  Not every fight is our fight to fight, some fights we must leave to God to fight them for us.

Good And Pleasant

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" Psalm 133:1

Each of us at one time in our lives had to deal with a person who for whatever the reason rubbed us the wrong way. There are those on our jobs or school that for some reason or another we just find it difficult to get along with them. We try all that we know, and still we cannot find common ground.

God Is On Your Side

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31

We can be as nice as we want to be to people and do the right things towards them, and we are still going to have some people against us.  No matter how much we follow the rules, there are going to be some things that come against us.  It is in the times when things and people are coming against we may begin to wonder who is on our side.  The people who are supposedly close to us will turn on us, and before we know it we are fighting against those who were once on our side.

Call On The Name Of The Lord

"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall." Malachi 4:2

For those of us who truly love The Lord there is no doubt that He has done great things in our lives.  We have discovered that simply being in His presence is enough to destroy yokes, and heal physically and mentally, and we have also discovered that there is power in His name.  There have been times when we did not know what to do, and it is was in our distress that we called on the name of The Lord, and just at the mention of His name we felt the weight being lifted off of our shoulders.

Never Forget

"Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage." Deuteronomy 6:12

It can be disheartening when we do something for someone who asked us to help them, and after we did, they act like they do not know us.  There are some people who will talk to us only when they need something for us, and if they do not need anything from us then they do not have time for us.

Do The Right Thing

“To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.” Proverbs 21:3 (ESV)

If we are honest with ourselves it is not always easy to do the right thing.  There are times when we struggle between doing what we know is right, and doing what we want to do.  We know that we should help someone because it is the right thing to do, but when we think about something they may have done to us or said about us, we struggle with doing what is right.

Your Shield Of Faith

“In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.” Ephesians 6:16 (NLT)

One of the tenets of who we are in Christ is our faith.  To be a follower and a believer in Jesus Christ can only happen when we have faith.  A faith that is not seen, but a faith that is built on hope that what God says will be, will be.  For many of us our daily lives are a walk of faith, we do not know what is going to happen or how it is going to happen, but our faith in God tells us that something is going to happen.  It is also that faith that reminds us that we can stand against the trials and tribulations that may come our way.

"And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD." I Samuel 1:15

Hannah was a woman who was determined to get something from God.  She knew that if she really wanted it she had to go to God in prayer, and she was not ashamed to go to God in prayer.  She went to the altar alone to pray and in the midst of her prayer Eli the priest saw her and thought she was drunk because her mouth was moving but he could not hear any of the words of her prayers to God.

I Love The Lord

“I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.” Psalm 116:1 (ESV)

When we think about how good The Lord has been to us, and how He has watched over us with loving kindness, it is evidence to us how much The Lord loves and cares about us.  The Lord does not need to tell us that He loves us because every day He shows His amazing love for us, by pouring into our lives His mercy and grace.
