Widow’s Support Ministry
As we as a church come together to care for one another, the Widow’s
Support Ministry is being developed to enhance sharing personal experiences,
encouragement, and Christian fellowship.
Women’s Home & Overseas Missionary
Society
WH&OMS was organized in 1880 in Montgomery, Alabama by the Rev. Mark Bell.
Active membership in this great body includes all the women of the AME Zion
Church who through contributions and participation in the work of the Society
indicate an interest in the cause of world evangelism. Membership is not restricted
to women. Men may become honorary members without voting privileges.
There are six (6) departments comprising the Woman's Home and Overseas Missionary Society:
The Parent Body
The Young Adult Missionary Society (YAMS) - 22 to 40 years old
Young Woman's Society (Y's) - 13 to 21 years old
The Buds of Promise - 3 to 12 years old
The Bureau of Supply to which donations are sent for overseas ministry (medicine,
spiritual resource materials, food, clothing, etc.)
The Life Members Council is made up of Life members and Life Matrons/Patrons.
Women’s Ministries Council
From heart to heart the gospel of Christ has been planted, taken root and
blossomed into faith. From woman to woman God’s love has burned eternal
and shown others the way to Jesus.
Under the spiritual leadership of our Pastor, Reverend W. Darin Moore, the Women’s Ministries Council was established to foster:

A spiritually rich experience allowing women an extended period of time to
retreat from the daily pull on their time and energies to be refreshed and
renewed in the Lord.
