Did you know that the word threshold according to Webster’s means the entrance or beginning point of something? There is something about the New Year that brings excitement to every individual whether young or old. We spend the last few days of December setting goals and making New Year Resolutions. However,
if you are like most people, after the first few weeks of planning, the goals and resolutions have been broken.
Reality shows like: Extreme Makeover, What Not to wear, 9 By Design, and Hoarding, gives us a glance of hope at the opportunity of remaking, remodeling, redesigning and or reforming our lives from the inside out. Although we have to go through a process in the beginning (January), to see the hope take affect at the end (December); we acknowledge that God is always working in us. We should continue to stay in His presence to see the spiritual change.
II Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.
What will it take for you to Cross the Threshold of Victory in 2012? Instead of making and then breaking your New Year Resolution, focus on the end result of a beginning process: “A Spiritual Make Over.”
Jeremiah 29:11 God says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Steps to Creating Measurable Goals:
Setting goals as we mentioned in December, requires maturity, determination, focus, and a love for Christ; which can be an intimidating process for many. However, the following are a few more steps to take that will assist you in creating feasible and measurable goals that will drive you forward and help you achieve God’s plan for your life.
Setting goals through visualization will help you to overcome the common obstacles to achieving your goals.
Spiritual Make Over Goal Requirements:
1. Remake: Decide to make God your first priority in life – Commit yourself to being a hearer and a doer of God’s word. God declares that we are new creatures in Christ, old things are passed away.
2. Remodel: Focus on the end results for theremain steadfast and unmovable, always abounding in the things of Christ Spiritual Make Over – Don’t stunt your growth by looking at the things you can see; but trust that God is working all things out for His good through you, as you .
3. Redesign: Embrace your new space (relationship) in God. Don’t allow anyone or anything to interfere or distract your time of intimacy with Him.
4. Reform: Give daily thanks unto God for the benefits (rewards) you have received, while allowing God to change you from the inside out. God gets all the glory for the things He has done in you.
Peace & Blessing for the New Year!
